— Our story —
The dream had to wait
Hi, we are Siarhei and Natasha — a couple from Belarus. We live in Poland because we cannot return to our native Belarus due to political persecution. Siarhei is a former political prisoner, and a criminal case has been opened against Natasha. We once had plans and dreams too — for example, to create our own eco-village, a place where people could rest from the noise and rush of the city. Today, we are bringing that lost dream to life in Podlasie.
In February 2026, we found this beautiful, slightly abandoned farmstead — and immediately fell in love with the place. We joke that there is a magnet hidden here, because we are always drawn back. Now we are building that very eco-village here — a piece of our homeland with its own special vibe.
— What is MROJA —
A place where you feel you belong from the moment you arrive
We are building an eco-village where you can come, rest, live closer to the land, and feel at home. Our first cabin and sauna are already here. More guest cabins and a chicken coop are still to come. You will be able to care for chickens, grow your own garden bed, and plant a tree.
For now, the farmstead is only being born. Help with hands-on work is always needed here, and there is always someone to meet, work with, and immediately see the result of your contribution.
It is a way to restore yourself by reviving a home that no one gives a chance. It is therapy through speaking with your own people about what is yours. Here, you do not need to explain anything. MROJA is a place where you are understood.
— Farmstead legend —
The house burned down completely in a fire
People who once lived here or are connected with this place have already started writing to us. That is how we learned that there used to be two farmsteads here, where the families of two brothers lived.
One day lightning struck the house of one of the brothers. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the house burned down completely. Then local people gathered together and quickly built a new house.
Our dream is to restore the farmstead together again: with Belarusians, Poles, and everyone who wants to join
— Making MROJA home —
From a tent to a little cabin

For the first three months, we came to the farmstead at weekends and slept in a tent pitched inside the old house. To spend more time here, we needed a proper place to sleep.
That is how MROJA got its barrel cabin, designed by Siarhei. Small, but comfortable to live in. Now we can wake up in our own bed and look out at the forest through a large window.

We both work during the week and give our spare time to the farmstead. That is why we especially wanted a sauna. Siarhei assembled it himself, and that evening we lit the stove for the first time. The scent of fresh wood, hot steam, and a living forest outside the window. At some point, your thoughts settle and you can simply breathe out.

Over a few months, our farmstead gained a cosy little terrace that sheltered us from the scorching heat and rain all summer. For larger gatherings, we put up a canopy, which the winds of Podlasie have blown away three times already, despite all Siarhei’s efforts to secure it. At one point, we felt like characters from The Three Little Pigs. A sturdy wooden gazebo is now firmly on our list of plans. And another particular source of pride is our outdoor toilet, which looks like a palace. A true work of art by Siarhei: even this little building got his creative touch.

Would you like a cabin or sauna for your own plot?
We will help you choose a model, discuss utilities and arrange your order. Siarhei will take care of assembly and installation on your plot.

What has been done and what is needed next
We have already done a lot with our own hands. But the further we move, the clearer it becomes: for MROJA to become a place for people, we need support.
