— Our story —
The dream had to wait
Hi, we’re Siarhei and Natasha — a Belarusian couple now living in Poland.
We cannot return to Belarus because of political persecution. Siarhei is a former political prisoner, and a criminal case has been opened against Natasha.
We once had plans and dreams — including creating our own ecovillage, a place to escape the noise and rush of the city.
After emigrating, we had to put that dream on hold. But in February 2026, we found an old homestead in Podlasie and immediately knew: this was the place.
Now, step by step, we’re bringing it back to life and creating Mroja here.
— What is Mroja —
A place where you feel you belong from the moment you arrive
Mroja is a remarkable Belarusian word. It means a dream that is destined to come true. Not a fantasy that will always remain a fantasy, but a dream gradually becoming reality.
We’re restoring an old homestead and creating a place to visit, take a break from the city, stay among the trees and feel part of Mroja.
It’s about finding ourselves again by bringing life back to a home that almost no one once believed could be saved. A place to breathe out, slow down and, even just for a while, feel like a child again.
— Farmstead legend —
The house burned down completely in a fire
People who once lived here or are connected with this place have already started writing to us. That is how we learned that there used to be two farmsteads here, where the families of two brothers lived.
One day lightning struck the house of one of the brothers. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the house burned down completely. Then local people gathered together and quickly built a new house.
Our dream is to bring this homestead back to life and create a place you truly want to return to.
— Making Mroja home —
From a tent to a little cabin

For the first three months, we came to the homestead at weekends and slept in a tent pitched right inside the old house.
But to spend more time here, we needed a comfortable bed and at least the basic comforts of a home.
That’s how Mroja got its first little cabin, designed by Siarhei, and later a sauna.
Over the summer, we also built a terrace, a toilet and other simple things that make life at the homestead much easier.
Siarhei also built three show cabins.
We’re doing everything we can to build 10 fully equipped guest cabins by next season and officially open for farm stays.
Would you like a cabin or sauna like this for your own land?

Every show cabin and sauna at Mroja is available to buy, or you can order the same model for your own land. You can choose the model and options that suit you, and Siarhei can take care of assembly and installation if needed.
— Visit Mroja —
How to visit Mroja
Want to find out what it’s like to stay in one of our guest cabins, enjoy the sauna and see Mroja with your own eyes? Get in touch — we’ll discuss whether a visit is possible and agree on a date and the details.
Keep Mroja’s fire burning
We don’t know how quickly we’ll be able to do everything we have planned. Every new cabin, every building and every next step takes time, work and significant investment. But the homestead is already alive. If our Mroja means something to you, you can become part of its story today.

A place for those who especially need to recharge
In the future, we plan to set aside two guest cabins at our homestead for former political prisoners, military personnel and other people in vulnerable circumstances.
Stays in these cabins will be free, giving people a chance to come for a few days, step away from the rush of everyday life, spend time in the forest, unwind and regain their strength.
If you or someone close to you needs this opportunity, please get in touch. We’ll arrange each stay individually.
